First of all, thank you to everyone who has supported my work by purchasing their own copy of The Tempest’s Child. The book has been a success for me, and I’m looking forward to many more months of promotion as we get into 2007. However, I refuse to stop at one book. That being the case, I have a number of projects in the works that will hopefully be out within the year.
A writing life is never easy. I’ve made a goal out of living this life and I’m happy doing so. However, I’ve found calling in bringing to light so many of the talented artists that are passed over daily due to lack of vision on the part of publishing houses. To do this I’ve taken on a huge project. One I am calling Indie Searchlight.
Indie Searchlight has been the project most prevalent on my list in the past 8 months. Finally you can see the beginnings of it up and running thanks to help from contributors and other authors/editors who have been instrumental in getting this all underway. This webzine has been a dream of mine for several years. I hope that my own readership will find the work of the other artists I promote as worthy as my own. That being the case I encourage everyone to check out www.indiesearchlight.com and email us to let us know what you’d like to see.
In the meantime, check out the rest of the site. See what people have had to say about The Tempest’s Child. See my calendar for dates on book signings close to you as well. I’ve been fortunate enough to begin a book signing tour with another East Texas author Edward Hancock II who will be on hand signing his book In The Breath Of God. We have several dates booked and will be announcing more as we are notified.
As usual I welcome emails and can be reached at samantha@indiesearchlight.com. I wish everyone a prosperous 2007. May your year be as filled with events as mine shall.
Sincerely,
Samantha A. Branham |
